Login and passwords
Why is my Shala Darpan login "not working"?
Almost always one of these: a wrong user ID, a forgotten password, or a captcha typed with the wrong case (captcha is case-sensitive). Also check that you are on the official site rajshaladarpan.rajasthan.gov.in and choose the correct tab for your role.
If the page loads but nothing happens after you click Login, try these steps:
- Make sure JavaScript is enabled in your browser. The portal uses JavaScript for form submission.
- Clear your browser cache and cookies, then try again. Old cached data can cause login loops.
- Try a different browser (Chrome, Firefox, or Edge). Some older browsers do not render the portal correctly.
- Check if the portal is down for maintenance. The department sometimes takes the site offline during late-night hours for updates.
See the troubleshooting guide for a full diagnosis.
Can I log in if I never registered?
Staff members register themselves on the Staff Window. School and office heads use the credentials issued to the school. Parents and students do not register on the portal. Students get records through the school. If you are a staff member and not sure whether you registered, try the "Know Staff Details" option on the Staff Window to check if your NIC-SD ID already exists. If it does, you can use the forgot-password flow to set a password. Full steps are in staff registration.
I forgot the staff password / the "Forgot password" link is not helping?
Use the official forgot-password flow with your Staff NIC-SD ID and registered mobile OTP. If the OTP goes to an old number, update the mobile with your block or district office first, then retry. Common reasons the OTP does not arrive:
- Your registered mobile number has changed. The OTP goes to whatever number the portal has on file.
- Network delays. Wait a minute or two, then request a new OTP.
- You are entering the wrong NIC-SD ID. Double-check it against your appointment letter or school records.
If none of these work, visit your block education office with your appointment letter and ID proof. They can verify and update your details. Details in password recovery.
Is the captcha really case-sensitive?
Yes. Enter upper and lower case letters exactly as shown. If the characters are unclear, refresh the captcha image before typing. If you refresh multiple times and the captcha is still hard to read, it may be a browser rendering issue. Try zooming in (Ctrl and +) or switch to a different browser.
Why does the portal keep logging me out?
The Shala Darpan session times out after a period of inactivity. If you step away from the page, you will need to log in again. To avoid losing work:
- Save or submit forms frequently while working.
- Do not open the portal in multiple tabs with different logins. This can cause session conflicts.
- Avoid using incognito or private browsing mode for the portal, since saved sessions may not persist.
If the session drops immediately after login, it usually means your browser is blocking cookies. Allow cookies for rajshaladarpan.rajasthan.gov.in in your browser settings.
Report cards and student records
How do I see my child's report card?
Log in to Shala Samvad with the Student NIC ID (or registered mobile or Jan Aadhaar) plus the date of birth. The report card opens once the details match.
If the report card does not appear, check these:
- The school may not have uploaded it yet. Report cards appear only after the school enters marks and the system processes them.
- The student's class or section may be wrong in the form. Select the exact class and section your child is in.
- Date of birth format matters. Enter it as the portal expects (usually DD/MM/YYYY).
For more on student records, see student details.
We lost the Student NIC ID. How do we recover it?
Ask the school or class teacher. The NIC ID is also printed on passing certificates and mark sheets issued from Shala Darpan. Check any printed documents your child brought home from school.
If you cannot find it, the school can look it up in the portal using the student's name, parents' names, and date of birth. Ask the school head or the data entry operator to search under Student Details. See student details.
The student's mobile number changed, so login fails.
Log in with the Student NIC ID or Jan Aadhaar instead of the mobile number. Once logged in, ask the school to update the mobile number in the portal so future logins work with the new number. The school's data entry operator can do this from the Student Module.
If you do not have the NIC ID or Jan Aadhaar either, contact the school with your child's name and date of birth. The school can retrieve the records and update the mobile in one visit. See Jan Aadhaar for more on the Jan Aadhaar link.
How do I check my child's attendance or school details?
Log in to Shala Samvad using the Student NIC ID or Jan Aadhaar. You can view attendance records, school details, and class information from the student dashboard. If your child's school has enabled Shala Samvad notifications, you may also receive updates about attendance and school events on your registered mobile.
Staff Window
How do I get my Staff NIC-SD ID for registration?
Open the Staff Window and use "Know School NIC-SD ID" and then "Know Staff Details" with your details. The steps are in the staff details guide.
When you search, you need at least two of these: your name as recorded in the portal, your date of birth, and your father's or husband's name. If the search returns no results, your school may not have uploaded your records yet. Ask your school head to enter your details in the Staff Module first.
What can I do inside the Staff Window?
You can view and update your service and profile details, apply for leave, check your transfer schedule, read department circulars and notices, and access connected modules. The exact menu depends on your post. A headmaster sees more options than a guest teacher. See Staff Login.
Some actions, like updating your qualification or bank details, need approval from the school head or block office. The portal shows the status of such requests so you know when they are processed.
How do I check my transfer order?
Log in to the Staff Window and look for the Transfer Orders section. You can search by your name, NIC-SD ID, or posting location. Transfer orders are published by the district and block offices. If you do not see your order, it may not have been uploaded yet. Check the transfer order guide for the full process, including how to check by posting location or district.
Can a guest teacher or contingent employee use the Staff Window?
Yes, if the school has entered your records in the portal. You get a NIC-SD ID and can log in to view your details and apply for leave. However, some features like transfer orders or seniority lists may not apply to guest or contingent staff. Ask your school head what is available for your post type.
Results
When and where do the Class 5th and 8th results appear?
Results are published on the Shala Darpan exam page and mirrored on rajeduboard.rajasthan.gov.in, rajresults.nic.in and the Raj PSP domain. The board usually announces the exact date and time a day before. Follow our result guide on result day.
Results typically appear between 8:00 AM and 12:00 PM on the announced date, though this varies. The board does not publish results at a fixed time every year.
Do I need a login to check the result?
No. You need the roll number plus one of: district, application number, or school NIC-SD or PSP code. No login is required. You can check results from any device with an internet connection.
The result site is slow or shows an error.
On result day, millions of parents and students try to access the site at the same time. This causes slowdowns. Try these steps:
- Switch to one of the official mirror sites. rajresults.nic.in often has less traffic than the main Shala Darpan page.
- Wait 15 to 20 minutes and try again. Traffic usually drops after the initial rush.
- Use a mobile data connection instead of Wi-Fi, or vice versa. Sometimes one network route works better than the other.
- Do not keep refreshing rapidly. This can get your IP temporarily blocked.
If the site stays down for hours, your school can confirm the result. The school receives a consolidated result sheet.
What if my roll number is wrong or not found?
Double-check the roll number on your admit card or hall ticket. The roll number is case-sensitive on some result pages, so enter it exactly as printed. If the number still does not work, contact your school. The school has a record of all student roll numbers and can correct any mismatch in the portal.
Can I download the marksheet from the portal?
The result page shows marks and grades. You can print or save the page as a PDF for your records. The official printed marksheet comes from the school or board office. The online result is for reference, not a substitute for the official certificate.
Citizen Window and public services
What can I do on the Citizen Window without logging in?
You can search for schools by name, block, or district. You can check a school's basic details, UDISE code, and location. You can also check results without logging in. The Citizen Window is designed for parents and the public to look up school information. See Citizen Window for the full list of what is available.
What is Shala Samvad and how do I use it?
Shala Samvad is the communication channel between schools and parents on Shala Darpan. Schools send notices, attendance alerts, and report card links through it. Parents can log in with the Student NIC ID or Jan Aadhaar to view messages and their child's information. See Shala Samvad for setup and login steps.
How do I find my child's school code or UDISE code?
Search for the school on the Citizen Window by name or location. The school's NIC-SD code and UDISE code appear in the results. You can also ask the school directly. The UDISE code is a 11-digit number used for national-level reporting. See UDISE and school search.
What is the Shala Darpan mobile app?
The app is available on Google Play. It covers some Citizen Window features, results, and basic school search. It does not replace the website for staff login or data entry. If the app does not work on your phone, check that your Android version meets the minimum requirement. See mobile app guide.
Scholarships and schemes
Can I apply for scholarships through Shala Darpan?
Some scholarship schemes are linked to Shala Darpan through the Scholar Login. The school usually initiates the application after verifying student eligibility. Parents cannot apply directly through the portal. Ask your school about which schemes are currently open. See scholar login and scholarship schemes.
What documents do I need for scholarship applications?
Requirements vary by scheme, but common ones include the student's Aadhaar card, bank passbook, previous year's marksheet, caste certificate (if applicable), and income certificate. The school will tell you exactly what to bring. Submit documents to the school, not directly to the portal.
Portal and site questions
Is this website the official Shala Darpan website?
No. Shala Darpan Guide is an independent help site. The only official portal is rajshaladarpan.rajasthan.gov.in. We do not have access to your portal account or any personal data stored on the official site. For account issues, always contact the official portal helpdesk or your school. See our official website guide and disclaimer.
What are the portal's login timings?
Portal availability follows government operation hours for regular working days. Data entry windows and result times are announced by the department. Public pages like the Citizen Window and results do not have login timings and are available around the clock, though they may go down briefly during scheduled maintenance.
What is the difference between Shala Darpan and RajPSP?
Shala Darpan covers government and government-aided schools in Rajasthan. RajPSP (rajpsp.nic.in) covers private and self-financed schools. They use different identifiers: NIC-SD ID for Shala Darpan, PSP Code for RajPSP. The two portals are separate systems. A student at a government school will have records on Shala Darpan, not RajPSP, and vice versa. See RajPSP comparison.
Is my data safe on the portal?
The portal is run by NIC Rajasthan, a government body. Data is stored on government servers. Do not share your login credentials with anyone. If you suspect unauthorized access to your account, change your password immediately and report it to your school or the portal helpdesk. For our site's data practices, see the privacy policy.
What does UDISE mean and why does it matter?
UDISE stands for Unified District Information System for Education. It is a national database that tracks school infrastructure, enrollment, and teacher data. Every school in India has a UDISE code. On Shala Darpan, the UDISE code helps link school records across state and national systems. See UDISE.
