Shala Darpan Result 2026: Class 5th and 8th
Step-by-step guide to check Rajasthan board results for Class 5th and 8th on Shala Darpan and mirror sites.
Written by Gautami Bandopadhyay, founder of Shala Darpan Guide.
What you need to check results
Before you start, keep one of these ready. The Shala Darpan result page asks for one piece of information along with a captcha. Which one you use depends on what you have on hand.
| What you have | How to use it |
|---|---|
| Roll number + district | Enter roll number and select district from the dropdown. This is the most common method. The roll number is printed on the admit card. It is usually 7 to 8 digits long. The district dropdown lists all 33 districts of Rajasthan. Pick the district where the student's school is registered, not necessarily the district the student lives in. |
| Application number | Enter the number from your exam application form. This is a good backup if you do not have the admit card. The application number is a longer string of digits. You can find it on the registration receipt your school gave you. |
| School code (NIC-SD or PSP) | Enter your school's NIC-SD code or private school's PSP code. This returns results for all students in that school. Useful for school administrators or if you lost your individual roll number. Ask your school office for the code if you do not know it. |
The result portal does not ask for a password or PIN. Any site that asks for a password or payment to show results is fake. The real Shala Darpan result page is free.
Step-by-step: How to check
Open the exam portal
Go to rajshaladarpan.rajasthan.gov.in. On the home page, look for the "Exam" or "Result" link. It is usually in the top menu or in a box near the center of the page. Click it, then select Class 5th or Class 8th. If you cannot find the link, the URL may change on result day. Check rajeduboard.rajasthan.gov.in for the direct result link.
Choose your method and enter the number
Pick one method from the table above. If you have the admit card, use the roll number and district. If not, use the application number. If neither works, try the school code to see all results for your school. Fill the captcha carefully. The captcha is case-sensitive. "Abc" and "abc" are treated as different inputs. The captcha image may look blurry on a slow connection. If you cannot read it, wait a few seconds for the image to load fully before typing.
View and save
The result page opens immediately after you submit. Your marks, grade, and pass/fail status appear on screen. Save it as a PDF or take a screenshot right away. On most phones, you can save a webpage as PDF from the browser menu (three dots, then "Share" or "Print", then "Save as PDF"). On a computer, press Ctrl+P and choose "Save as PDF" as the printer. The portal may remove old results after a few weeks. Keep a copy in more than one place, like your phone and a USB drive.
Result day tips
Result day is usually the busiest day for the Shala Darpan servers. Here are a few things that help:
- Best times to check: The portal is slowest between 9 AM and 1 PM when most people try at once. Try early morning (6 AM to 8 AM) or late evening (after 10 PM) when traffic is lower.
- Avoid refreshing the page: Every refresh sends a new request to the server. If the page is loading, wait for it to finish. Refreshing multiple times makes the slowdown worse for everyone.
- Use a wired connection if possible: Wi-Fi is fine, but a phone on mobile data may lose connection mid-load. If you are on Wi-Fi, stay close to the router.
- Open only one tab: Do not open the result page in five tabs at once. The server may block your IP temporarily if it sees too many requests from one address.
- Try mirror sites: If the main portal is not loading, try the mirror sites listed below. They show the same data.
- Have your details ready: Keep the admit card or application form next to you. Typing the wrong roll number and hitting submit wastes time, especially when the captcha locks you out after three wrong attempts.
If results do not show
Sometimes the result page loads but nothing appears, or you get an error. Here is what to check:
Result troubleshooting
Results not declared yet
Rajasthan board declares Class 5th and 8th results on different dates. Both classes do not always come out on the same day. If results are not out yet, nothing will appear on the portal, or you may see a "No record found" message. Check rajeduboard.rajasthan.gov.in for the schedule. The board usually announces the date a few days before.
Wrong roll number
The roll number is printed on your admit card. One wrong digit means no result. Type it carefully. If you do not have the admit card, ask your school office. They keep a copy of every student's roll number. You can also try the application number or school code method instead.
Wrong district selected
For the roll number + district method, select the exact district where the student's school is registered. The school may be in a different district from where the student lives. If you select the wrong district, the result will not appear even if the roll number is correct. Check the school address on the admit card to confirm.
Captcha rejected
Three wrong attempts lock the page for 5 to 10 minutes. Wait and try again. Do not refresh the page during the lockout. The captcha is case-sensitive. Also, check for similar-looking characters: the number 0 and the letter O, or the number 1 and the letter l. If the captcha image is unclear, look for a "refresh captcha" button to get a new one.
Portal is slow or not loading
On result day, servers are overloaded. Pages take time to load or may time out completely. Be patient. Try early morning (6 to 8 AM) or after 10 PM. If the page keeps timing out, try a mirror site. Clear your browser cache if the page shows an old version or looks broken.
Private school results on a different portal
If the student attends a private school, results may be on RajPSP instead of Shala Darpan. This applies to schools registered under the Private School PSP code. See our Shala Darpan vs RajPSP comparison for more details.
Browser shows "Your connection is not secure"
This usually means your browser's date and time are wrong, or the site's SSL certificate expired temporarily. Make sure your device's date and time are set correctly. If the problem persists, try a different browser or wait and try again later.
Result shows wrong name or marks
This is rare, but it can happen. Do not panic. Write down or screenshot what you see. Report it to your school head the same day. The school can apply for correction through the School Window. The board has a deadline for corrections, so act fast.
How to download and print your result
Saving your result is important. The portal may remove old results after a few weeks, and you may need the result for admission, scholarships, or other paperwork later.
On a phone
- Open the result page in Chrome or your default browser.
- Tap the three-dot menu in the top right corner.
- Tap "Share", then scroll down and tap "Print" or "Save as PDF".
- Choose "Save as PDF" as the printer and tap the save button.
- The PDF saves to your Downloads folder. Move it to a folder you can find easily.
On a computer
- Open the result page in your browser.
- Press Ctrl+P (or Cmd+P on Mac) to open the print dialog.
- Change the destination to "Save as PDF".
- Click "Save" and choose where to save the file.
You can also take a screenshot as a backup. On Windows, press Win+Shift+S. On Mac, press Cmd+Shift+4. On most phones, press the volume down and power buttons together.
Keep the saved file in at least two places: your phone and a computer or cloud storage. If your phone breaks or gets lost, you still have the result.
What to do after checking results
Getting the result is the first step. Here is what to do next:
- Save and print immediately. Do not assume the result will stay online. Print two copies if you can: one for home, one for school records.
- Check every subject. Look at the marks for each subject, not just the total. If any subject shows "Absent" or a mark that looks wrong, report it to your school head right away. The school can apply for correction through the School Window. There is usually a short window for corrections, so do not wait.
- Get ready for the next class. You need the result for admission to Class 6th or 9th. Some schools ask for the printed result during admission. Keep it ready.
- Apply for scholarships if eligible. Rajasthan has several scholarship schemes for students in government schools. If you are applying for a scholarship, fill the form after results are out. You will need the result as proof.
- Tell your parents or guardian. Share the result with your family. If you have questions about what the marks mean for your next steps, your school teacher or counselor can help.
Mirror sites
When the main portal is slow, the government sometimes runs mirror sites. These show the same data on different URLs:
- rajeduboard.rajasthan.gov.in is the Rajasthan Board main site. It often has the result link before the main Shala Darpan portal does.
- rajresults.nic.in is the NIC result site. It handles traffic separately from Shala Darpan, so it may load faster on result day.
Mirror sites need the same information: roll number and district. No separate registration is needed. The result you see on a mirror site is the same as on the main portal.
On result day: The portal is very slow. Do not refresh repeatedly. It makes the server slower for everyone. Be patient or try mirror sites. If a page does not load within 30 seconds, close the tab, wait a minute, and try again.
