First, choose the right login. Using the wrong login is the most common reason people fail to get in. Staff Login and School/Office Login use separate credentials that are not interchangeable. A staff member cannot log in through the School/Office screen, and a school head cannot use the Staff Window. Take a moment to check the table below before you type anything.

Which login do you need?

Which Shala Darpan login to use
Your role Use this login What it gives you
Teacher or department staff Staff Login (Staff Window) Profile, service record, leave, transfer schedule
Principal, school in-charge, office in-charge School/Office Login School data, student/staff records, portal modules
School/office in-charge on the scholarship portal Beneficiary scheme login Rajasthan State Scholarship Portal (DBT schemes)
Student / parent viewing report card Student Login (Shala Samvad) Report card via Student NIC ID + date of birth
Citizen / parent (public data) None — Citizen Window School, student and staff reports without login

Staff Login (Staff Window)

The Staff Window is for teachers, clerks, and other employees who receive a salary through the Rajasthan education system. Your login gives you access to your personal service book, leave records, transfer orders, and salary details. Only the person whose name is linked to a Staff Window account can log in with those credentials.

To use the Staff Login, you need a NIC-SD ID. This is a unique identifier assigned to each employee. Your NIC-SD ID is usually provided by your school or district office. If you have never used the portal before, ask your school head or the district education office for your ID and the initial password.

Once you are inside the Staff Window, you can update your mobile number, check your leave balance, view transfer postings, download salary slips, and submit service-related requests. Keep your login credentials to yourself. Do not write them on sticky notes or share them with colleagues.

School/Office Login

School and office heads use this login to manage their institution's data on the portal. The School/Office account lets you view and update student enrollment records, manage staff details, handle scholarship applications, and access school-level reports. Only the person officially designated as the school head or office in-charge should use these credentials.

The login uses a User ID and password provided by the district education office or the NIC team. If your school has changed its principal, the new principal needs to get fresh credentials. The old principal's login does not transfer automatically. Contact the district office to update the designation.

Through the School/Office Login, you can also access the Beneficiary Scheme for scholarship-related work. This module handles Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) schemes under the Rajasthan State Scholarship Portal. School in-charges use it to verify student applications and approve scholarship disbursements.

Student Login (Shala Samvad)

Students and parents use the Shala Samvad login to view report cards and academic records. You do not need a complex password for this. Your Student NIC ID and date of birth are enough to log in. The NIC ID is a 10-digit number assigned to each student enrolled in a Rajasthan government school.

To log in, go to the Shala Samvad section on the portal, enter your NIC ID, select your date of birth from the calendar, and type the captcha. If your NIC ID is correct and your date of birth matches, the portal will show your report card. You can check marks, attendance, and exam results from here.

If you do not know your Student NIC ID, ask your school teacher or the school office. They can look it up in the school records. Parents can also find the NIC ID on any previous report card or school document that mentions the student's portal details.

Steps that apply to every login

  1. Open the official portal

Go to rajshaladarpan.rajasthan.gov.in. Confirm the domain before entering anything. The URL should start with https:// and end with rajasthan.gov.in. If you see a different web address, close the page immediately.

  2. Pick the correct login tab

Choose School/Office Login or Staff Login from the portal menu, depending on your role from the table above. The portal has separate buttons for each login type. Do not guess. If you are not sure, check with your school or district office first.

  3. Enter your credentials and captcha

Type your user ID and password carefully. The captcha is case-sensitive, which means uppercase and lowercase letters matter. If the captcha shows "AbC123", you must type it exactly as shown. A wrong captcha is one of the most common reasons for login failure. If you cannot read the captcha image, refresh it by clicking the reload button next to it.

  4. Verify with OTP

After entering your credentials, the portal sends a one-time password (OTP) to your registered mobile number. Enter this OTP within the time limit. If you do not receive the OTP within one minute, check that your mobile phone has network coverage. You can also click the Resend OTP button. Do not share the OTP with anyone.

  5. Use the dashboard

Once inside, the menu matches your login. Staff see the Staff Window with personal and service records. School accounts see school management options, student data, and staff records. Take a moment to look around the dashboard so you know where everything is. The menu is on the left side of the screen.

Common login problems and how to fix them

Wrong password or user ID

If the portal says your credentials are wrong, double-check what you are typing. Caps Lock on your keyboard can cause errors. Make sure you are using the right user ID for the right login type. A Staff ID will not work on the School/Office screen. If you are sure you are typing the right credentials and it still does not work, use the password recovery link on the login page. Do not guess more than three or four times. Too many failed attempts can lock your account for several hours.

OTP not arriving

The OTP goes to your registered mobile number. If you changed your phone number and did not update it on the portal, the OTP will go to the old number. Check that your phone has network. Try moving to an area with better signal. If you still do not get the OTP, click Resend OTP. If the problem continues, your mobile number may need updating. Contact your school head or district office to get your number changed in the system.

Captcha not working

The captcha is there to prevent automated attacks, but it can be tricky. Make sure you type it exactly as shown, including uppercase and lowercase letters. If the captcha image is blurry, click the refresh button to get a new one. Do not copy and paste the captcha. Type it manually each time.

Account locked after too many attempts

After several wrong login attempts, the portal locks your account for a short period. This is a security measure. Wait for at least one to two hours before trying again. During this time, make sure you have the correct user ID and a working password. If you have forgotten your password, use the recovery link instead of guessing.

Portal is slow or not loading

The Shala Darpan portal can be slow during peak hours, especially during exam results or admission season. Try again after some time. Clear your browser cache if the page seems stuck. If the server is down, there is nothing you can do except wait. Server maintenance usually happens at night and does not last long.

Page shows an error after login

Sometimes you log in successfully but an error appears when you try to open a section. This usually means the server is overloaded. Go back to the dashboard and try the section again. If the error keeps appearing, log out and log back in. If the problem does not go away, report it through the portal's help section or contact your district office.

Forgot your password or user ID?

Do not create a new account or guess repeatedly, since too many failed attempts can lock you out temporarily. Use the recovery links on the login page. Here is what to do based on your login type:

Staff password recovery

Staff members can recover their password through the Staff Window login page. Click the "Forgot Password" link, enter your NIC-SD ID and registered mobile number. The portal will send a reset link or OTP to your phone. Follow the instructions to set a new password. If your registered mobile number is no longer active, you will need to contact your school head or district office to update it first.

School/Office password recovery

School heads can use the "Forgot Password" option on the School/Office Login page. You will need your User ID and the registered mobile number. If you cannot recover the password because the mobile number has changed, contact the district education office. They can reset the credentials for you.

User ID recovery

If you have forgotten your user ID entirely, check any old documents from your school or district office. Your NIC-SD ID for staff or your User ID for school accounts is usually mentioned in appointment letters, service records, or official communications. If you cannot find it, your school head or district office can look it up for you.

Security tips

Protecting your login credentials keeps your personal and school data safe. Here are some things you should do:

  • Never share your OTP. Even someone claiming to be from the education department or your school office has no reason to ask for it. The OTP is for you alone.
  • Do not share your password. Not with colleagues, not with friends, not with anyone. If someone needs access to school data, they should use their own account.
  • Type the URL yourself. Do not click links from WhatsApp messages, SMS, or emails that claim to be from Shala Darpan. Always type rajshaladarpan.rajasthan.gov.in into your browser directly.
  • Log out when you are done. Especially if you are using a shared computer at school or a cyber cafe. Click the logout button and close the browser window.
  • Do not save passwords in shared browsers. If you use a computer that others also use, do not let the browser save your password. Anyone who uses the computer after you could see it.
  • Report suspicious messages. If you get a message that asks for your password, OTP, or bank details, report it to your school head and to the district office. Do not click any links in the message.
  • Change your password occasionally. If you have been using the same password for a long time, change it to something new. Pick a password that is hard for others to guess but easy for you to remember.

What to do if none of these apply to you

Some visitors land on the login page without knowing which category they fall into. Here is a quick test: if you receive a salary from the Rajasthan government, you are staff. If you run a school, you are a school head. If you are a student or parent checking marks or report cards, you probably do not need to log in at all. The Citizen Window handles most parent and student needs without any login.

If you are still unsure, contact your school office. They can tell you which login you need and help you get started. Do not try random logins. Each login type has its own credentials, and using the wrong one will not work.

What to do if you do not know your credentials

Many people land on the login page but do not have a user ID or password yet. This is common for new teachers, newly appointed school heads, and students who are using the portal for the first time. Here is what to do:

  • New teachers and staff: Your school head or the district education office provides your NIC-SD ID and initial password. Ask them when you join. They have access to the system that generates new staff accounts.
  • New school heads: When a new principal is appointed, the district office creates a new School/Office account. The old principal's credentials are deactivated. Contact your district office to get your new login details.
  • Students: Your school teacher can look up your Student NIC ID. It is in the school records. You can also find it on any previous report card or school document.
  • Parents: If you are trying to check your child's report card, you do not need a login. Use the Citizen Window or the Shala Samvad section with your child's NIC ID and date of birth.

Do not buy login credentials from anyone. The portal does not charge for accounts, and buying credentials from unofficial sources puts your data at risk. If someone offers to sell you a login, report them to your school or district office.
