About Shala Darpan Guide
We help students, parents, teachers and school staff use the official Rajasthan education portal without confusion.
What this site is
Shala Darpan Guide is an independent reference website. It is not run by the Rajasthan government or by the Department of Education. The site was founded in 2024 by Gautami Bandopadhyay, a former school administrator from Gujarat who spent years helping teachers and parents navigate the Shala Darpan portal. Gautami started the site after seeing how many families struggled with the portal's Hindi interface and scattered help pages. A small group of contributors now helps maintain and update the guides.
The site covers practical tasks that people need to do on the official Shala Darpan portal. That means login steps for parents, students, school administrators and staff. It means finding a school by name or code, reading a report card, and downloading or printing it. It means checking the Class 5th and 8th results when they are declared. And it means using the Citizen Window services, such as student transfer requests, school contact details, and the Shala Samvad messaging feature.
Each guide page follows the same approach: state the steps in order, show what the screen looks like at each stage, and link back to the official page where the action happens. The goal is to save you time so you do not have to guess which button to click or which login type to pick.
Who runs this site
The site is run by Gautami Bandopadhyay, a former school administrator based in Gujarat, India who has used the Shala Darpan portal firsthand and knows where people get stuck. Gautami writes and reviews guides with help from a small group of contributors. No large organisation or publisher backs the site. It is funded through small advertisements placed on the pages. The ads do not track you beyond what normal web hosting logs, and they do not change the content of any guide.
Gautami responds to correction requests from readers and from school staff who spot something outdated. When the official portal changes a screen or a process, the affected guide is reviewed and the steps are updated. Each page shows the date of the last review near the top so you can judge how recent it is.
Why this site exists
Shala Darpan is the official portal for government schools in Rajasthan. Millions of families, teachers and school administrators use it every year for logins, student records, results, and citizen services. The portal works, but its help pages are often in dense Hindi, spread across several sections, and written in an administrative style that assumes you already know the system.
This site fills that gap. It takes the same official information and rewrites it as numbered steps, with plain language and clear headings. Parents who have never used a government portal before can follow along without asking someone else for help. Teachers and school administrators can find the right page quickly during busy periods, such as result season or the start of a new school year.
The site also publishes timely posts when the government announces new rules, result dates, or changes to the portal. These posts link back to the original announcement so you can check the details yourself.
What the site covers
The main sections of the site are:
- Login guides for parents, students, school administrators and staff, including the ICDS login used by Anganwadi workers.
- Citizen Window services such as student transfer, school search, and contact details.
- Results for Class 5th and Class 8th board exams, including how to check, download, and print the result.
- Shala Samvad, the messaging feature that connects parents with school staff through the portal.
- Transfer orders, explaining how to check, download, and read a transfer order.
- Mobile app, covering the official Shala Darpan app and how to use it on Android.
- FAQ, collecting answers to the most common questions from readers.
If a topic falls outside these areas but relates to the Shala Darpan portal, a new page will be added when the information becomes clear and confirmed.
How the site is maintained
The site runs as a static website. There is no database behind it, no user accounts, and no login system for readers. The pages are plain HTML and CSS, served through standard web hosting. This means the site loads quickly, works on slow connections, and does not break when traffic spikes during result days.
The site is reviewed on a regular cycle. Pages that deal with time-sensitive topics, such as results and circulars, get checked more often. When a page is reviewed, the date shown at the top of the page is updated. If a step has changed on the official portal, the guide is rewritten to match. Old guides that no longer match the portal are either updated or removed.
The site does not collect personal information from readers. It logs basic data such as which pages are visited and how many people visit each day, which is standard for any website. The privacy policy explains this in full.
Editorial standards
Every page on the site follows a simple editorial policy:
- Only official sources. Every guide references the official Shala Darpan portal, the Department of Education website, or a government notification. Steps are not invented or guessed.
- Plain language. Guides are written so that someone with basic reading ability can follow them. Technical terms are explained the first time they appear. Hindi terms used on the portal are written in English and, where useful, in Devanagari script.
- Review before publishing. Every new page is checked for accuracy, clarity, and safety before it goes live. The check covers broken links, incorrect steps, and any text that could be misleading.
- Corrections welcome. If you find a mistake on any page, you can report it through the contact page or by email. Confirmed errors are fixed and the page is updated. Major corrections are noted on the page.
- No paid content. Advertisements appear on the site, but no payment is accepted to write or promote any guide. Sponsored content is not part of this site.
The full editorial policy is available on the editorial policy page.

We do not process any request on your behalf. For anything involving your records, your account, or your school, only the official portal and your school or office can act.
Every guide on this site starts from the official portal: rajshaladarpan.rajasthan.gov.in. If you need to log in, check a result, or submit a request, you will need to do it on the official site. This guide can show you the steps, but it cannot do the action for you.
