Shala Darpan Student Login
How students and parents log in to view report cards, progress reports, and academic records on Shala Darpan.
Written by Gautami Bandopadhyay, founder of Shala Darpan Guide.
What the student login does
The student login (also called Shala Samvad login) lets students and parents view report cards, progress reports, and academic records stored in the Rajasthan education system. It is a read-only view. You cannot edit records, apply for transfers, or change personal details through this login. The login covers classes 1 through 12 for schools registered on the Shala Darpan portal.
This login is separate from the School Window login that teachers and administrators use. Students and parents use the student login to check marks, attendance, and school information from home or on any device with internet access.
Who can log in
- Students with a NIC ID, mobile number, or Jan Aadhaar number.
- Parents using their child's NIC ID or Jan Aadhaar number, plus the child's date of birth.
The login works on both the official portal and the mobile app. You do not need to create a separate account. The system uses the student's existing records for verification.
How to find your Student NIC ID
The NIC ID is a unique number assigned to each student in the Shala Darpan system. Here is where you can find it:
- Check the student's passing certificate or marks sheet from the previous year. The NIC ID is printed on it.
- Ask the class teacher or school head. They can look it up through the School Window portal.
- If you have the student's Jan Aadhaar number, the school head can cross-reference it to find the NIC ID.
- Some schools share the NIC ID with parents during admission or at the start of the academic year.
Write the NIC ID down and keep it somewhere safe. You will need it every time you log in to check results or progress reports.
Step-by-step login process
Open Shala Samvad
Go to rajshaladarpan.rajasthan.gov.in in your browser. Look for the link that says "Shala Samvad" or "Student Login" on the homepage. On mobile, the same link appears in the menu.
Choose your login method
You will see three options: NIC ID, mobile number, or Jan Aadhaar. Pick the one you have. Enter the number in the field that appears. Make sure there are no extra spaces before or after the number.
Enter date of birth and captcha
Type the student's date of birth in DD/MM/YYYY format. For example, 15/06/2012 for 15 June 2012. Then fill in the captcha. The captcha is case-sensitive, so capital and small letters matter. If the captcha is hard to read, click the refresh icon next to it to get a new one.
Click Login
Press the Login button. If the details are correct, the system will open the student's dashboard. If not, check the error message and try again.
View and save the report card
The report card will appear on screen. You can save it as a PDF by pressing Ctrl+P (or Cmd+P on Mac) and choosing "Save as PDF" as the printer. You can also print it directly if you have a printer connected.
What you can see after login
Once you log in, the student dashboard shows the following information:
- Current year report card with subject-wise marks, grades, and total score
- Past year results if the school has uploaded them to the system
- Attendance record showing days present, absent, and total working days
- School and class details including school name, class, section, and roll number
- Progress reports from mid-term or periodic assessments, if available
Not all data may be available at all times. Schools upload results after exams, so the report card may not appear until the school has entered the marks. If you log in right after exams, the report card might still be blank.
Common login problems and solutions
NIC ID not found
Ask your class teacher or school head. They can look it up in the School Window. The ID is also printed on the student's passing certificate or previous year's marks sheet. If you recently transferred to a new school, the NIC ID may not have synced yet. Wait a few days and try again, or ask the new school to check.
Date of birth mismatch
The date of birth must match exactly what the school entered in the system. Common mistakes include swapping the day and month (writing 06/15 instead of 15/06) or using the wrong year. If the date of birth is wrong in the system, ask the school head to correct it through the School Window.
Report card not showing
Results may not be uploaded yet. Schools upload marks after exams are graded and verified. Check the results page for the expected result date. If results are out but still not showing for your child, inform the school head so they can upload the data.
Login page not opening or loading slowly
Check updates for maintenance notices. The portal sometimes goes down for scheduled maintenance. Clear your browser cache and cookies, then try again. If you are on a slow connection, try a different network. You can also try a different browser like Chrome, Firefox, or Edge.
Captcha not working
The captcha is case-sensitive. Make sure capital letters are typed as capital. If the image is hard to read, click the refresh button to get a new captcha. Do not copy-paste the captcha. Type it manually.
Multiple children, one login
If you have more than one child in a Rajasthan government school, you can use the Jan Aadhaar number linked to your family. The system will show report cards for all children linked to that Jan Aadhaar. You do not need to log in separately for each child.
Parent login and access
Parents can use the same student login page. There is no separate parent login portal. Use your child's NIC ID, or your family Jan Aadhaar number, along with the child's date of birth. The system treats the parent and student login the same way.
Here is what parents should know:
- Use your child's NIC ID or Jan Aadhaar, not your own Aadhaar number.
- The date of birth must be the child's, not the parent's.
- If your family Jan Aadhaar is linked to multiple children, all their report cards will appear after login.
- Parents do not get a separate account or password. The login uses the student's details.
- You can log in from any device, phone, or computer. There is no limit on how many times you check.
Tips for first-time users
If you are logging in for the first time, these steps can help:
- Keep the NIC ID handy before you start. You can find it on the student's previous marks sheet or ask the school.
- Double-check the date of birth format. Use DD/MM/YYYY, not MM/DD/YYYY. The system does not accept other formats.
- Try on a computer first if possible. The portal works on phones, but a larger screen makes it easier to read the report card and save it as PDF.
- Use Chrome or Firefox for the best experience. Some older browsers may not display the page correctly.
- Save the NIC ID somewhere safe after you find it. Write it in a notebook or save it in your phone. You will need it each time.
- Do not share your NIC ID or Jan Aadhaar number with anyone outside your family. Treat it like a password.
- Check after result dates. If you log in before results are uploaded, the report card will be blank. Wait for the official result announcement.
- Take screenshots of the report card if you cannot print it right away. This gives you a backup copy.
Parent login vs student login
| Who | What they see |
|---|---|
| Student | Their own report card, attendance, and academic record |
| Parent (using Jan Aadhaar) | Report cards for all children linked to that Jan Aadhaar |
| Parent (using NIC ID) | Report card for the specific child whose NIC ID was entered |
