What is Shala Darpan?

Shala Darpan is the official online portal that Rajasthan's school education system uses to manage records for government schools, students, and staff. Its full technical name is Integrated ShalaDarpan (also written as "Shala Darpan I4S-Raj"). The Rajasthan Council of School Education (RCSE), based at Shiksha Sankul on JLN Marg in Jaipur, provides the data. The National Informatics Centre (NIC), Rajasthan, built and maintains the portal.

For most people, Shala Darpan comes down to four things. Teachers use the Staff Window to log in, update their profile, or check transfer status. Principals and school office in-charges use the School Login to manage school records and beneficiary scheme details. Anyone can use the Citizen Window to search for schools, student reports, and staff information without logging in. And during exam season, the Class 5th and Class 8th result pages are where students across Rajasthan go to check their marks.

This guide is a separate, unofficial reference. We write instructions based on how the portal works today, then keep them updated when the portal changes. If something on the official site breaks or moves, we try to fix our pages quickly.

Why this guide exists

The Shala Darpan portal is run by the Rajasthan government, but it does not always come with clear instructions. Login pages change without warning. CAPTCHA images are hard to read. Password recovery steps are not obvious. Result pages go live at different times, and the official site does not always say when.

This site fills that gap. We write out each step with screenshots where possible, explain what the Hindi labels mean, and tell you where the portal has known problems. We also list working URLs and mirror sites so you do not end up on fake pages that collect your login details.

Everything on this guide is free. There is no paid version, no premium login, and no app that asks for money. If someone charges you for access to Shala Darpan help, they are not affiliated with this site.

What you can do on Shala Darpan

Shala Darpan has several different sections. Here is what each one does and who uses it.

Staff Login (Staff Window)

Teachers and non-teaching staff log in here to view their service records, update personal details, and check transfer orders. You need a user ID and password given by your school's data in-charge. If you have never logged in before, the registration process starts from this window.

School Login (School/Office Window)

Principals, headmasters, and school office staff use this login to manage school-level data: student enrollment, staff attendance, and beneficiary schemes like mid-day meal or free textbook tracking. This login is different from the staff login and uses separate credentials.

Citizen Window

This is the public side of the portal. Anyone can search for government schools by district, block, or school code. You can also look up student details and staff reports. No login is required for any of these searches.

Class 5th & 8th Results

Every year, Rajasthan declares Class 5th (REET-based) and Class 8th board results through Shala Darpan and partner sites. Students can check results using their roll number and district, their application number, or their school code.

Shala Samvad

Shala Samvad is the student portal inside Shala Darpan. Students log in with their NIC Student ID to view their report cards, passing certificates, and academic history. It is also used for grievance registration by students and parents.

Beneficiary Scheme Portal

Schools manage beneficiary schemes (textbooks, uniforms, mid-day meals, and other government schemes) through this section. Only school-level users with the right login can access it.

Get started

Choose the path that matches who you are.

Teacher or staff member

Log in to the Staff Window, register for the first time, or recover a forgotten user ID and password.

Common problems and how to fix them

People run into the same issues on Shala Darpan again and again. Here are the ones we hear about most, with quick fixes.

CAPTCHA not loading or unreadable

The CAPTCHA image on Shala Darpan is sometimes blurry or does not load at all. Try refreshing the page. If the CAPTCHA still does not appear, clear your browser cache or try a different browser. Chrome and Firefox usually work better than older browsers.

OTP not arriving on mobile

OTP delays are common during high-traffic periods like result day. Wait a few minutes before requesting a new OTP. Check that your registered mobile number is correct. If the number has changed, you will need to contact your school's data in-charge to update it.

Password recovery not working

The "Forgot Password" link asks for your user ID and registered mobile number. If you do not remember your user ID, check with your school office. Staff members can also recover their ID through the Staff Window using their employee code.

Portal showing "under maintenance"

Shala Darpan goes down for maintenance, especially at night and during result declaration periods. There is nothing to do but wait. The portal usually comes back within a few hours. Check the official portal or this guide for updates.

Wrong school or student details

If your school name, address, or student details appear incorrect on the portal, report it to your school's data in-charge. They can correct records through the School Login. For student-level corrections, the school office initiates the change.

Result page not opening

On result day, the Shala Darpan result page gets heavy traffic and may load slowly or not at all. Try during off-peak hours (early morning or late evening). You can also check results on partner sites like rajeduboard.rajasthan.gov.in or rajresults.nic.in.

Important dates to remember

These dates shift every year, so check the official portal or this guide for updates. Here is the general pattern.

Class 8th Board Results

Declared between June and July every year. Results are published on Shala Darpan and mirror sites. Students need their roll number and district to check.

Class 5th (REET Level 1) Results

Declared after the REET exam results, usually between August and October. Check Shala Darpan's result section or rajeduboard.rajasthan.gov.in.

Staff Transfer Window

Transfer orders are published periodically through the Staff Window. The exact schedule is announced by RCSE. Check your Staff Window dashboard regularly during transfer season.

Quick answers

Is Shala Darpan the official website of the Rajasthan education department?

Shala Darpan is the official school education management portal of Rajasthan. The portal itself is at rajshaladarpan.rajasthan.gov.in. Shala Darpan Guide is an independent reference site and is not the official website.

Do I need to log in to see school information?

No. The Citizen Window shows public school, student and staff reports without login. Logins are needed by staff members and by school or office in-charges.

Why can't I log in with the same password for staff and school?

Staff Login and School/Office Login are separate accounts with separate credentials. Choose the login meant for your role, then recover the password for that account.

Where can I check the Class 5th and 8th results?

On the Shala Darpan result pages and mirror sites such as rajeduboard.rajasthan.gov.in and rajresults.nic.in, using your roll number and district (or application number, or school code).

Is there a Shala Darpan mobile app?

The Rajasthan government has released a Shala Darpan app for citizens. You can find it on the Google Play Store. The app covers school search and some citizen services. Staff and school logins still work best through the website on a desktop browser.

Can I use Shala Darpan on my phone?

Yes. The portal works on mobile browsers, though some pages are easier to use on a desktop. The CAPTCHA and login screens can be harder to handle on a small screen. If you have trouble on your phone, try switching to a laptop or desktop computer.
