Who I am
I am Gautami Bandopadhyay, a former school administrator from Gujarat, India. I spent several years working in government schools where I saw firsthand how families and teachers struggled with the Shala Darpan portal. The portal does its job, but the instructions are scattered, the interface is in dense Hindi, and many users do not know where to start.
I started Shala Darpan Guide in 2024 to fix that. The site takes official information from the portal and rewrites it as clear, numbered steps that anyone can follow. Parents who have never used a government website before can find their way. Teachers and school administrators can save time during busy periods like result season.
Background
Before starting this site, I worked as a school administrator in Rajasthan. My daily work involved helping teachers log in to the portal, update student records, check transfer orders, and navigate the various modules that Shala Darpan offers. I also helped parents understand how to view report cards, check results, and use the Citizen Window services.
Over the years, I noticed the same problems coming up again and again:
- Parents could not find the right login page because there are several different login types.
- Teachers did not know their NIC-SD ID or how to recover a lost password.
- School administrators struggled with transfer orders and staff detail updates.
- Students and parents had no idea how to check Class 5th or 8th results when they were declared.
These are not difficult problems, but they cause real stress when you do not know the answer. That is why I write guides that walk you through each step from start to finish.
What I write about
Every guide on this site covers a specific task on the Shala Darpan portal. I explain what the feature does, who it is for, and how to use it step by step. I link back to the official portal so you can take action directly. The guides cover:

How I ensure accuracy
Every guide starts from the official Shala Darpan portal. I do not invent steps or guess what a feature does. When the portal changes a screen or a process, I review the affected guide and update the steps. Each page shows the date of the last review near the top.
I also welcome corrections from readers. If you find a mistake on any page, you can report it through the contact page or by email at support@shaladarpanguide.pp.ua. Confirmed errors are fixed and the page is updated.
About the site
Shala Darpan Guide is an independent reference website. It is not run by the Rajasthan government or by the Department of Education. The site is funded through small advertisements placed on the pages. No payment is accepted to write or promote any guide.
The site does not collect personal information from readers. It logs basic data such as which pages are visited and how many people visit each day, which is standard for any website. The privacy policy explains this in full.
